Main Library

The main library of the LSU Libraries is open. All library services are available. Please visit the hours page for intersession and summer hours.  Masks are required for entry, social distancing is encouraged and hand sanitizer and wipe stations are available on all floors. Special Collections

The Special Collections reading room in Hill Memorial Library is open from 9 am – 1 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from 1 pm – 5 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This schedule will continue until further notice with the exception of holiday breaks. Please check the library’s hours calendar for more details. Researchers are encouraged to make an appointment in advance using this web form,though walk-in researchers will be accommodated if the reading room is not at capacity. Our room capacity is currently 10 researchers.Please contact us directly to learn more.

The exhibit gallery will also be open to walk-in visitors during the reading room hours listed above.

Research & Instruction Services

Research consultations are available remotely by appointment: Additionally, Research & Instruction Services librarians can develop research guides, tutorials, and information literacy sessions to support your online courses. Contact your subject specialist librarian for more information:

Access Services

Circulation and Interlibrary Loan are open for service. Please note that e are quarantining books before we check them in because of safety concerns. Patrons may receive overdue notices because these are sent automatically. We will backdate the discharge of books to the date of the return so patrons will not be charged fines for the days the books have to spend in quarantine. Patrons are encouraged to check their accounts online a week after they have returned the books to make sure that library materials have been properly checked in.

Virtual online copyright drop-in sessions

Drop into a copyright session with Darcée Olson, Copyright & Scholarly Communication Policy Director, via Zoom, 8-noon on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. She can help clarify issues related to copyright, especially as you move your course materials online. Zoom link:
