Bound volume of 400 envelopes with printed caricatures of the South from the Northern point of view. Willie Sargent Smith collected the envelopes, which depict such subjects as politics, finances, trade, warfare, morals, race relations, and political leaders such as Jefferson Davis and General G. T. The letter discusses the United States acquiring Cuba and Soule?'s dispute with the Secretary of U.S. Legation in Madrid, Horatio J.
